With the construction of Disney's third theme park which will more than likely begin in 2005. Disneyland's second theme park, California Adventure, opened in the first part of 2001 which sits where the main parking lot used to be for the original Disneyland which opened in 1955. What does this mean for the city of Anaheim? Right now, an estimated 15 million visitors pass through Anaheim every year and more than 13 million of those visitors make their way to the magic kingdom. Disneyland and Anaheim are nestled in southern California, located a short 25 miles south east from Los Angeles on I-5.

WHAT'S NORTH, EAST, SOUTH AND WEST?
West: Point yourself west and head toward the ocean. Anaheim is just minutes from the coast with Huntington Beach, Long Beach and Laguna Beach being some of the most popular beaches in southern Cal. Nothing feels quite like sand in your shorts as you kick back and watch some great scenery as well as enjoy mild water temperatures year round.
North: Once you are at sands edge, drive north up the coast on Highway 1 to beautiful Malibu and Santa Barbara. Continue even farther north onto San Luis Obispo where the coastline changes and becomes more rugged in spots.
South: Head south and make the trek to beautiful Oceanside for some great sportfishing in the cool Pacific. Go farther south to San Diego. Are you lost yet?
East:Going inland from Anaheim will bring warmer climates-infact some really hot desert climates such as Palm Springs where the golf is as spectacular as the temperatures in mid summer.
Anaheim Weather: Since Southern California has a near ideal climate (see chart below), there is no true off-season in Anaheim. Summer and holidays when school is out tend to be the busiest times for U.S. tourists. But many attractions offer special promotional deals to residents in winter months.
